Australia will no longer recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel

“Jerusalem is a status issue that should be resolved in a peace negotiation between Israel and the Palestinian people,” said the foreign minister.

Australia announces it will no longer recognize West Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, overturning a controversial decision by the previous Conservative government.

“Jerusalem is a status issue that should be resolved as part of a peace negotiation between Israel and the Palestinian people,” Foreign Minister Penny Wong said in a statement.
