Climate crisis, UN: “Humanity risks collective suicide”

The fires and heat waves that are ravaging large areas of the planet show that “humanity is facing collective suicide”. This was stated by the Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, in front of the ministers of 40 countries gathered to discuss the climate crisis. “Half of humanity is in danger from floods, droughts, extreme storms and fires. No nation is immune. Yet we continue to fuel our dependence on fossil fuels.” And he added: “We have a choice. Collective action or collective suicide.”
