Inflation in the Eurozone will touch 7.6% in 2022, at record levels, driven by energy. This is the summer economic forecast of the EU Commission, an estimate revised upwards from 6.1% in May. Estimate for 2023, 4%.

Since the war in Ukraine “upward pressure on energy and raw materials”, it is emphasized.

Gentiloni, Commissioner for the Economy: “Strong uncertainties and downside risks. It could be said that we are passing from a slowdown to a slowdown in growth. In troubled waters, the EU shows solidarity, sustainability, security”.
