The European Commission has included the ‘price cap’ on oil in its proposal to member states for the new package of sanctions on Russia. “Moscow must pay for this further escalation” to the war in Ukraine, said the president of the EU Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, presenting the eighth package of sanctions. Von der Leyen then reiterated that the EU “will never accept” the outcome of the “false” referendums organized by the Kremlin in the Donbas.
Ban the import of Russian products worth 7 billion euros;
Introduce a ceiling on Russian oil prices;
Impose sanctions against individuals who will circumvent restrictions against Russia;
Expand the list of goods prohibited for delivery to the Russian Federation in the field of aviation and electronic components, chemicals;
Prohibit EU citizens from joining the management bodies of Russian state-owned companies.
