Iran, 6th protester sentenced to death

The number of death sentences in Iran among demonstrators who participated in the protests sparked by the death of Mahsa Amini in recent months has risen to six.

Tehran’s Revolutionary Court has sentenced a protester to death, accused of having “the intention to kill with a knife to create fear and insecurity in society”. Under sharia law, the contested behavior is punishable by the death penalty, Tasnim news agency reported. The judgments can be appealed before the Cassation.
