Ivanka Trump has decided to retire from American politics and not actively join her father’s efforts to retake the White House in 2024.
“I decided to prioritize my young children and the private life we create as a family,” Ivanka said.
On Tuesday, Donald Trump submitted his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election.
His family, including his wife Melania and son Eric, were in attendance at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida. Ivanka’s husband, Jared Kushner, was also present, but not Ivanka.
“I love my father very much. However, this time I choose family. I have no plans to do politics. Although I will always love and support my father, in the future I will do so outside the political arena. I am grateful to have had the honor of serving the American people and will always be proud of the many achievements of our administration,” said Ivanka.
Let’s remember that Ivanka Trump and her husband played key roles in the Trump administration and were under public criticism for many of their excesses, in part because of their previous lives as part of the elite Manhattan social scene, which is mostly Democratic, CNN reports.
Since Donald Trump lost to Joe Biden in 2020, Ivanka Trump and her family have moved into an expensive mansion in Florida.
She recently testified before a committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, in which Trump’s extremist supporters tried to reverse his election loss.
Ivanka Trump was with her father at the White House that day and is one of more than 800 witnesses interviewed by the commission.
