Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan clashes, presidents order troops withdraw from the border

The president of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, and that of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, met in Samarkand and appealed to their respective troops to withdraw men and military vehicles from the line of contact along the border.

The order is the next step with respect to the truce reached after days of tensions and clashes that have resulted in deaths and injuries, due to territorial disputes between the two countries. This was announced by the Kyrgyz presidency office.
