Other fires have broken out in different areas of Spain, particularly in the western area of the country: firefighters are working to contain the flames
A fire is devastating the Spanish national park of Monfragüe, near Madrid. The flames of an out-of-control forest fire, which broke out on Thursday evening, spread quickly, driven by the wind and high temperatures, to penetrate the park located in the Extremadura region. The nearby town of Casas de Miravete has been evacuated, while a state road connecting this village with that of Jaraiceco is interrupted. Over 100 firefighters are active on site, engaged in the containment work of the maxi-stake.
Other fires have spread to various areas of Spain, particularly in the western part of the country. Of particular concern is this maxi-stake that developed in the province of Las Hurdes, also in Extremadura.
