The terrible story comes from the state of Texas where the woman, Melissa Towne, showed up Sunday morning at a hospital in Harris County with the dead body of the baby.
“I killed my baby”, is how a 35-year-old American mother confessed to the emergency room doctors the murder of her 5-year-old daughter whom she had taken to the hospital covered in blood by loading her into the back of the family van wrapped in a plastic bag. The terrible story comes from the state of Texas where the woman, Melissa Towne, showed up Sunday morning at a hospital in Harris County with the dead body of the baby.
According to police reports, the woman entered the emergency room shortly after noon on Sunday saying her daughter was ill and continued to tell staff that her little girl was in her van because she had been stabbed to death. The doctors immediately went to the car, discovering the little girl covered in blood. They tried to revive her but unfortunately they had to give up and declare her death shortly after.
Meanwhile, the same mother admitted to the staff of the HCA Tomball hospital that it was she who stabbed her daughter to death. At that point the police rushed to the scene, arresting the woman and starting investigations to ascertain the facts.
“The child has a neck wound which is consistent with what the mother said,” the local police spokesperson explained at a press conference, believing that the victim was “stabbed in the neck by her mother”.
The woman, taken to the police station, said that the fatal accident occurred in a nearby park. Investigators also rushed to the scene with the scientific departments, finding other evidence
According to the authorities, Towne took the baby to the park, headed for the woods, knocked her little girl to her knees and slit her throat. Reportedly, the baby didn’t die right away, she allegedly started screaming but that didn’t stop her mother. Investigators said Towne called the girl “evil” and said he “didn’t want to have anything to do with her anymore.”
