Monkeypox, WHO: “35,000 cases worldwide in one week”

So far there are about 35,000 cases of monkeypox registered in 92 countries, with 12 total deaths. About 7,500 were reported last week, 20% more than the previous week (when the increase was also 20%). This was reported by the WHO director general, Tedros Ghebreyesus, underlining that most of the infections come from Europe and America.
