Norway saw the risk of power outages during the winter

The Norwegian electricity distribution network “Statnet” announced today that it will cancel the warning that the energy system in that country is overloaded, as heavy rains have improved the condition of the hydro plants.

“The probability of power outages in southern Norway during the winter has decreased. It is unlikely that the state will need to conserve electricity this winter,” Statnet said in a statement.

Statnet announced in May that Norway could face restrictions in the southern half of the country in winter if the situation on the rivers does not improve.

“There was a lot of rain during the autumn, so with sufficient imports and reduced consumption, the situation improved,” said Statnet director Hilde Tone.
