Viktoria Ljungman, a 23-year-old commercial pilot, died in a flight lesson because a student made a mistake that caused the small aircraft they were traveling to stall and crash. It happened last Thursday in Virginia, according to the Daily Mail.

The young woman as usual began a flight lesson with two Hampton University students at Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport, where the pilot had previously worked as an instructor.

As Virginia State Police stated, one of the two boys, 18-year-old Oluwagbohunmi Oyebode, attempted to raise the Cessna 172 single-engine plane at too steep an angle while it was in flight and for this reason the fatal crash occurred.

Oyebodee and the other 18-year-old student on board, who has not yet been identified, sustained very serious injuries which turned out to be fatal. The two managed to get to the hospital.

Ljungman was instead pronounced dead at the scene. Ljungman was remembered by her former college roommate with these words: “Smart, beautiful, adventurous, punctual and a risk taker.”

“Hampton University is aware of the unfortunate incident that occurred today involving two of our students. The exact cause of the incident is under investigation,” said a university spokesman after the incident, according to reports. local news.
