Taiwan, China sanctions 7 Taipei officials

China has imposed sanctions on seven Taiwanese officials accused of supporting Taiwan’s independence, over which Beijing claims sovereignty. This was reported by the official Chinese news agency “Xinhua”, citing the Taiwan Affairs Bureau.

Among the seven sanctioned are Hsiao Bi-khim, Taiwan’s de facto ambassador to Washington, and Wellington Koo, secretary general of Taiwan’s National Security Council.
