Rishi Sunak has arrived in Kyiv to meet the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelensky.
It is the first time the two leaders have met since Sunak became Prime Minister of Great Britain.
On the Telegram social network, Zelensky shared a video of the British Prime Minister’s arrival in Kiev.
“Since the first days of the war, Ukraine and Great Britain have been the strongest allies,” he originally wrote.
“During today’s meeting, we discussed important issues both for our countries and for global security. Together we are stronger and we will achieve the desired results”, he said.
Meanwhile, Sunak has stated that the British know best what it is to fight for freedom.
“Britain knows what it means to fight for freedom. We are with you all the way Volodymyr Zelensky,” he tweeted.
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson visited the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, several times.
