The European Union will provide another 2.5 billion euros in financial aid to Ukraine. The news was announced by the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.
The EU Commission is planning to help Ukraine with an 18 billion euro support package in 2023, with regularly disbursed funds, for emergency repairs and recovery, she said in a tweet.
“We will continue to support Ukraine for as long as it takes,” she wrote.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal thanked the EU for the help, describing the move as “another step of solidarity”.
