Tourism: Italy awarded as the best destination in the world

The Best Destination Country and Best Hotel award is considered among the most prestigious awards in the travel industry and celebrates the winners voted by the readers of News UK, the editorial group of The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun

Italy is the best tourist destination in the world. This was decided by half a million readers of the British newspaper The Times who voted for the Bel Paese giving it, for the sixth consecutive year, the Best Destination Country and Best Hotel awards. An audience made up of demanding travelers who can spend on travel. This is the profile of voters who prefer Italy.

The event is considered one of the most prestigious awards in the travel industry and celebrates the winners voted by the readers of News UK, the publishing group which includes The Times, The Sunday Times and The Sun. The prizes are awarded with a system of vote by the readers to the most important stakeholders in the world of tourism and to tourist destinations such as: favorite city, favorite country, best tour operator, best cruise company. This year also introduced an award for sustainability and for the best emerging destination.

The ranking that earned Italy this prestigious award is based on the opinions of readers. In the same best country category, the United Kingdom ranks second and Greece third.
