Video of the floods in Kentucky: 37 dead, 6 children dead

At least 37 people died as a result of flash floods in eastern Kentucky. The BBC reports. At least six children, including four siblings, between the ages of one and eight, who were reportedly wiped out from the grasp of their parents, are among the dead. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said the death toll will continue to rise as “hundreds” are left missing. More than 12,000 families were left without electricity and hundreds of homes and businesses were flooded. Repairing damage to roads, bridges and other infrastructure will cost millions, the governor said.
