WhatsApp introduces animated avatars for video calls

The instant messaging app is also evaluating the possibility of editing messages already sent

According to insiders there would be a turning point in sight for the world of WhatsApp. Analyzing the new version of WhatsApp beta 2.22.15.5 for Android, it is highly probable that, among the new features of the app, animated avatars will be inserted that, during video calls, will speak for users.
After starting the video call via WhatsApp, people will have the possibility to choose – as has happened until now – whether to deactivate or keep the camera active, but also to replace their figure, in particular the face, with that of a personalized avatar.

It is not yet enabled but the activation of the avatar should be possible through a special button. As its functionality has not yet been established, those who use the Android system cannot yet test this new mode of communication in a concrete way.

Various innovations have been introduced – or about to be made – by Meta: in addition to the idea of avatars, we also think about the possibility of leaving the conversation groups in a “silent” way without being noticed and that of being able to edit messages already sent.
