At first the man had said he was inclined to return the amount but at the time of making the transfer he sent the letter of resignation and is untraceable
A Chilean worker has been sued by his company, CIAL Alimentos, for misappropriating a salary equivalent to that of 330 colleagues. After pocketing $180,418, instead of the usual $545, he resigned via a letter sent by his lawyer. Despite promising the return of the money, he quits job and vanishes
A human error behind the maxi-accreditation – The fact happened on May 30 in the Consorcio industrial de Alimentos producers (Cial), one of the largest cured meats in Chile. The worker had informed the deputy director, explaining that he had received 330 times the salary due. The Department of Human Resources, which had already accidentally noticed the error, asked the employee to take action for the return of the sum not due.
Initially the man showed himself to be cooperative, but the next day the financial office of the consortium realized that the expected reimbursement was not there. The administrators could not contact the employee. He did nothing to be tracked, ignoring phone calls and WhatsApp messages from the company. So for three days. And of course he didn’t return the money. On the other hand, he informed the company of his resignation.
The complaint – The company has nothing left but to file a complaint against the now former employee. For the time being, no arrests have been made. The legal battle could last several years.
